Maya Village. Sure, the fact that this port is surrounded by the vast natural beauty of the
Mexican Caribbean and the Mayan jungle is a clear draw. But, what makes Costa Maya
truly unique is that it is a themed cruise port, offering a wide range of unforgettable
opportunities for adventure, culture and relaxation just steps away from the dock.
Check out these fun and exciting things to do in Costa Maya while on a cruise.

Explore the Port

Experience a warm welcome from the locals and enjoy the hospitality and excellent
service of the establishments at the port. You can eat delicious Mexican food at the
restaurants, buy local products and souvenirs in the stores, or hang out at the beach with
a cocktail in hand. You can have a great time in Costa Maya without even stepping foot
outside of the port.

Go on an Expedition

If you want some exciting things to do in Costa Maya near cruise port, take a guided tour
of the beach and the surrounding Mayan jungle while riding an ATV. You can also take a

Standing in the shadow of the stone pyramids and temples, you’ll be able to fully

Try a Unique Cultural Experience (or Five)

One of the best ways to experience Mexican culture is to eat, drink, and share experiences
with the locals. Enjoy an exclusive tasting of the best tequilas of Mexico or the history of
one of the world’s most popular flavors — chocolate — at Kakaw. Go snorkeling, experience
exotic birds native to the Caribbean at the aviary, or pamper your body and nurture your
spirit by partaking in a Mayan healing ritual.

Visit Costa Maya Adventure Park

To top off your cruise experience, treat your family to a fun day at Maya, Lost Mayan
Kingdom Adventure Park. It boasts thrilling water slides, ziplines, and the 400-meter Zip
Coaster (the ultimate zip line experience) that goes over land and water. If at some point
you need to relax and recharge, their are resting areas throughout the park that you can
use to do just that.

  • Had a great time here. Easy for the accessible person. Very clean and it offers many activities at the port. Loved the natives with their customs. The pool is beautifull with the sand, palms and beach chairs. Great view at the boat here. Go see the tequila museum. So authentic Mexican. Take a taxi to Mahaual for $3 to enjoy the beach. Can’t wait to go back!

  • Took a cruise that stop at Costa Maya. The highlight for sure was seeing this show with the flying man definitely worth seeing. The rest of the area is very commercial with a lot of stores bars restaurants some of them pretty interesting. It can be very busy at times when the crew ships come in so we took a trolley ride ($3 per person) two miles away to see the nearby city along the bay with some nice beaches which was was a nice change to get away from the very touristy area.

  • You can easily spend the day and never leave the port, eating, drinking, its all here!
